Top Tots Daycare provide weekly football sessions free of charge for our children, which are run by an external company named Totstars. These take place on Wednesdays and are excellent at building up the children's agility as well as improving their listening and attention skills. 

Sessions will take place in the garden, unless there are seriously adverse weather conditions.

These lessons are not only a great and fun way to improve your child’s physical ability, they also help with following instructions and teamwork.

We encourage parents to either send their children to nursery in sensible footwear or provide extra footwear for these sessions, as those wearing sandals or other inappropriate shoes will not be allowed to take part for health and safety reasons.

Top Tots Daycare holds cooking activity sessions once every half-term. These cooking activities allow the children to discover and explore new skills like rolling, pouring, measuring, spreading and more. Our cooking activities are linked to our themes and are held on various days each half-term to include as many children as possible.

We host trips within our local community once every half-term. These trips allow the children to make sense of the world and the surrounding neighbourhood, as well as enhance their understanding of seasons, animals and wildlife, public transport, and people who help us in the community.

Similarly, we invite visitors to come to the setting to speak to the children from various organisations to develop children's understanding of job roles and who to approach for help in different situations. We have had visits from police officers, paramedics, firefighters, nurses, and water safety charities.

Every Tuesday morning, we hold music and movement sessions with lots of games, music, and dancing to promote rhythm, vocabulary expansion, social skills, dancing and listening skills. 

This session will be held in the garden, unless there are severely adverse weather conditions which prevent us from doing so.

On our preschool floor, we host speech and language sessions once a fortnight, on Tuesdays. These sessions are led by an external organisation - Tots Talk. The sessions are to support speech and language and to enrich children's vocabulary and listening and attention skills.
